Abstract

ABSTRAK:

 

Background/purpose.

Early childhood is in a golden age that will determine the ability to develop various aspects, including social and emotional. Good social-emotional skills will be so important that children are able to interact, control emotions, and adapt in the surrounding environment. But there are still many teachers and parents who do not understand the importance of early childhood social emotional development. This study aims to find out how the application of outbound methods can develop the social-emotional abilities of early childhood at RA SALSABILA.

Materials/methods.

This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with observation, interview, and documentation approaches. The research subjects were children aged 5-6 years in class B of RA SALSABILA. Outbound activities are designed to provide direct experience in the form of fun games, which can stimulate children's social-emotional development.

Results.

The results showed that the application of outbound methods can effectively improve children's social-emotional abilities, especially in the aspects of cooperation, communication, emotional control, self-confidence and adaptability. Children are more able to interact with peers, complete group tasks, and show empathy and tolerance.

Conclusion.

The outbound method is proven to be an effective and fun means of developing early childhood social-emotional skills. Therefore, outbound activities are recommended to be part of the learning strategy in RA/TK to maximize children's potential holistically.
